On 26 November 2020, a team of human rights activists and lawyers, including former member of National Human Rights Commission Mohna Ansari visited Bardibas, Mahottari under the initiative of Terai Human Rights Defenders Alliance and prepared this report based on the team’s monitoring.
On the eve of the 16-days Violence Against Women campaign, a six-year-old girl was raped and killed in Bardibas district on 22 November 2020. Buddhiraj Neupane, 32, was killed during the protests organized by the victim’s family and the locals demanding action against the alleged perpetrator.
