Surkhet: Kamal Gurung, 9, and Bishal Bathamagar,12 permanent residents of Chigang Rural Municipality ward no: 1, Surkhet, were beaten up brutally for allegedly stealing money on May 12, 2018 by Ashok Gurung, a member of Nepal Police and Yam bahadur Gurung, a member of Indian Army, both from the same municipality.
According to the minors, their perpetrators were drunk and they beat them up on their face, head, back, and feet.
Although, the minors told them that they had not stolen the money, Ashok Gurung and Yam Bahadur Gurung put pieces of clothes in their mouth and beat them up with sticks. Bishal was critical after the incident and was not able to walk.
On May 30, 2018, the police took the minors’ perpetrators under control and sent the children to the Regional Hospital in Surkhet for medical examination. The relatives of the minor have filed a complaint against the minors’ perpetrators demanding strict action against the perpetrators.
THRD Alliance urged the police to take action against the minors’ perpetrators.
